Network Appoints Randy Rovegno as Vice President, Content Distribution Marketing, Michael Voice as Vice President, Business and Sales Strategy, and Caroline Wilson as Vice President, Integrated Marketing
LOS ANGELES, CA – August 23, 2016 – Pop today announced the appointment of three new executives who will join the network’s Los Angeles offices starting this month, including: Randy Rovegno as Vice President, Content Distribution Marketing; Michael Voice as Vice President, Business and Sales Strategy; and Caroline Wilson as Vice President, Integrated Marketing. Rovegno and Voice will report to Pam Bertino, Pop’s Senior Vice President of Content Distribution, and Wilson will report to Nicole Sabatini, Pop’s Executive Vice President of Marketing.
As one of the fastest growing cable networks, Pop has increased its programming to over 400 hours of original content this year. Pop’s programming line-up includes four original scripted series, including the critically acclaimed “Schitt’s Creek,” the satirical comedy “Nightcap,” horror-suspense thriller “Wolf Creek,” and the single-camera comedy “Joey Mac Project.” Since its rebrand in January 2015, Pop has launched with new distributors and has added over 100 new national advertisers.
Rovegno will oversee Pop’s content distribution marketing initiatives, working closely with MVPD partners. Previously, he served as Vice President, Content Marketing at Ovation, where he oversaw content distribution, international and consumer marketing. Prior to Ovation, he was the principal and founder of Longboard Marketing, a full-service marketing agency. He also served as Senior Vice President at Image Factory and as Director of Marketing at Fox Cable Networks.
Voice, who most recently served as a consultant with Pop, will be responsible for negotiating carriage agreements with cable and satellite operators, as well as identifying distribution opportunities on digital platforms. Previously, he served as Vice President, Finance for Betfair U.S., where he led all aspects of financial planning, accounting and business insights for Betfair TVG and Betfair Casino. Earlier in his career, Voice served as a contract negotiation and financial planning consultant for Retirement Living Television and as Vice President, Sales Strategy and Administration for Pop’s predecessor TV Guide Network.
“As we continue to evolve Pop as one of the most widely distributed entertainment networks, Randy and Michael will be instrumental leading our growth efforts and expanding our distributor partnerships,” said Bertino. “They both have proven track records and will be valuable additions to the team.”
Wilson will be responsible for developing and executing innovative, actionable solutions for Pop’s national advertisers, as well as helping to lead the network’s annual upfront strategy. Most recently, she served as Senior Director, Content Strategy at Initiative, where she developed traditional, digital and social media content campaigns for key clients. Prior to Initiative, Wilson served as Creative Experiences Director for Microsoft Advertising and as a Director at Edelman/Matter.
“Caroline’s experience managing traditional media campaigns and developing innovative content experiences on the agency side will bring a well-rounded, unique perspective to her new role at Pop,” said Sabatini. “She will be an integral part of our sales and marketing team, while also working closely with key advertisers on developing effective media solutions.”
Fans don’t sit at the outskirts of pop culture making snarky comments. They live right smack in the middle of it, sharing, creating, and connecting their passions with others. At Pop, fans finally have a destination that celebrates the fun of being a fan. Fans aren’t even fans anymore — they’re gladiators, tributes, human beings and blockheads. Seen in more than 80 million homes, Pop gives fans a dedicated channel that loves being a fan as much as they do. A channel that respects talent over celebrity. A channel filled with optimism, passion, humor, and excitement. A channel that understands the fun doesn’t stop when the credits roll… it’s really just the beginning.
