DAVID MANDELL PROMOTED TO CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF POP
Network’s General Counsel Adds Content Distribution, Business Development And Operations to His Responsibilities
LOS ANGELES — September 10, 2015 — Pop today announced that David Mandell has been elevated to Chief Operating Officer, a newly created executive position at the network owned by CBS and Lionsgate. Mr. Mandell will continue as Pop’s General Counsel overseeing legal and business affairs, while adding content distribution, business development and operations to his responsibilities. He reports to Brad Schwartz, President of Pop.
 
“David’s innumerable contributions both as a legal and business advisor, as well as a team leader, have helped drive Pop’s growth and momentum during our launch year,” said Mr. Schwartz. “With our expanding programming slate and new market opportunities ahead, David will play an increasingly important role in managing and growing our rapidly evolving business.”

Mr. Mandell’s tenure at the network (formerly TVGN) began in December 2013 as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. In addition to overseeing the network’s legal and business affairs, ranging from corporate development to programming agreements to intellectual property rights, he was instrumental in expanding Pop’s distribution, which adds AT&T U-Verse in 2016. Moving forward, Mr. Mandell will continue to oversee these areas, as well as build Pop’s digital distribution and content strategies.
 
Previously, Mr. Mandell served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel/Corporate Secretary for Mandalay Digital Group, where he managed corporate development and strategic planning, business and legal affairs, and corporate governance and regulatory matters. Prior to Mandalay, Mandell served as Senior Vice President, Business/Legal Affairs at Gemstar-TV Guide, where he negotiated complex carriage agreements in the area of cable, satellite and IPTV programming distribution, as well as structured domestic and international programming license and distribution agreements. Before Gemstar-TV Guide, Mandell was Vice President, Business/Legal Affairs at Playboy Entertainment Group.
